Interview With A Divorce With Dignity Provider

Jun 22, 2016 | Dealing with Divorce Lawyers, Divorce Process

Denise Foster, our Divorce With Dignity provider in Alameda County, CA, was recently interviewed on a radio program by Ronnie Joy, The Midlife Dating Coach. Ronnie asked Denise to talk about how she can help people who are considering amicable divorce or separation.

Denise explained that she can work with people in whatever stage of divorce they are in – whether first considering or just beginning a divorce, or feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and unsure of what to do next. Her Divorce With Dignity office is a safe place to talk about divorce in a nurturing and supportive atmosphere. She offers divorce planning and facilitation to anyone who wants to have an amicable divorce in a non-traumatic, dignified way.

Her mission is to make a difficult situation easier, and her clients are grateful to have someone lead them through the divorce process. She points out that you don’t have to hire a lawyer to get a divorce. An amicable divorce is mostly a matter of working out a divorce agreement and preparing the proper divorce papers. Because she is not “representing” one spouse or the other like a lawyer would, she can talk with both sides and coordinate an agreement between the two parties. She then uses attorney-developed software to prepare the various legal documents relating to divorce.

However, there are some situations where legal advice may be needed, for example issues concerning child support. Since she is not an attorney, she does not give legal advice. But she can arrange for an attorney to help her clients on an as-needed basis. This is much more cost-effective than hiring an attorney to handle the entire divorce. And it’s also a less contentious way to divorce; when both parties hire lawyers to represent them in divorce court, it becomes an adversarial situation which increases negative feelings and hurtful exchanges.

Denise can work on an hourly basis or a flat-rate fee, and can help you achieve a peaceful divorce for a fraction of what an average attorney-based divorce would cost. She is offering a free telephone or in-person consultation, and also a free pamphlet “5 Simple Steps to an Amicable Divorce” as a download from her Divorce With Dignity webpage.
